• Take your temperature daily is possible and communicate with your supervisor that you are in good health to deliver services that day (Via Ring Central)
  • Contact your clients daily, to verify they are in good health to receive services this day (communicate this to your coordinator as well)
  • If upon your arrival you find someone is ill, you can leave the home and notify your supervisor
  • A medical note will be required
  • Wash yours and your clients hands every 30-minutes, or as needed (sneeze, cough etc.,)
  • To avoid any imposition to the family, if you are washing your hands alone, bring your own soap in a sterilized container
  • Do not enter your clients home with your shoes on
  • Remove them as you knock on the door, and place them in a plastic bag, wash your hands afterward
  • Avoid physical contact with others, including caregivers (shaking hands, hugs, high-fives, fist bumps)
  • Attempt to maintain 6-feet of distance, from others in the home
  • It will likely be difficult to maintain that distance with your client, however you can sit behind them to minimize being in the direct line of a sneeze/cough
  • Wear long sleeves if possible
  • Wear gloves if possible (avoid touching your property, as gloves can carry bacteria)
  • Ensure that if you cough or sneeze that you “catch it”, into the elbow, into a napkin, or inside of your shirt.
  • Always follow up with washing your hands
  • Wear a facemask if you are not able to maintain a reasonable distance from the client
  • Wear gloves if possible
  • Avoid utilizing edible reinforcement, and terminate any feeding protocols
  • Parents may facilitate, but do not handle food
  • If any family member in the clients home or your own, are showing symptoms; stop all services immediately and have them reach out to healthcare professionals
  • If you see multiple clients, you are to suspend services for l your clients, until receipt of medical clearance from the symptomatic party
  • Observe all precautions with bodily fluids (refer to Blood Borne Pathogens Training)
  • If your client expressing blood, has mucus, or other bodily fluids, ask the parent to intervene immediately
  • If you have gloves, you are able to assist in first aid procedures with parent
  • If you have gloves you can notify the parent you are wiping the client’s face
  • All aforementioned procedures must be follow up with handwashing for yourself and the client
  • Washing one’s own face is also suggested
